The basic purpose of education is character building- agree all the greats. But syllabus is not designed that way. Any attempt is objected .As ethical principles are deeply wedded to religion. And minority of atheists dictate the terms. Then just schooling is not education, it is vital part of it, parents know it but it should be registered in their mind very thoroughly. First 10 years of any child have deep imprint on child's mind. Anything can happen that decides the direction after that also, but style and ways of responding to situations are ingrained in first ten years. So Primary education and environment around children is of utmost importance.
