11 september is known for the events that changed the world. Events? 9/11 of 21st century is in public memory. That was negative one. And we know how world changed thereafter .
Event we are talking about ,towards the end of 19th century on 11september 1893 , an event that was diametrically opposite in nature had happened. This event - ' Brothers and Sisters of America ..." . From the beginning it marked its novelty. This event also looked for unity of themes in every religion. And star campaigner was none other than - our very own Swamiji- Swami Vivekananda. His speech changed the course of history, bringing new sense of confidence in colonised people and you know how religion is important in our existence. You can read more about here:

Whenever people of any religion settle in any locality , next thing they do is to raise places of worship , that' s pattern. So I found it funny whenever somebody says we could have save this money and built schools. Nothing goes for saying blah blah & blah. Ok if we built so many schools , from where you will bring students , that may be relatively easy , from where will you bring quality teachers and you need to run these schools for many more years, what is it's use if they stopped running within a few years. Of course education is necessary but it is not in conflict with humanity's basic spiritual and social needs.
And we cannot afford, the world cannot afford people of particular religion having inferiority complex , especially all the religions form unity of this world like being different colours or shades of our existence. So Swamiji while bringing wave of confidence in Hinduism also very clearly mentioned our Indian ethos of respecting all religions. That is why we aptly celebrate 11september as विश्व बंधुत्व दिन ( Universal Brotherhood Day). You may call it World Brotherhood day but the term ' Vishwa' is more encompassing and so connotes Universe.
Also I have heard speeches of some of the historical figures . These speeches are very valuable and inspiring in their own right. But personally in my opinion nothing beats Swamiji's voice . I cannot describe it , but very nostalgic kind of voice , you can hear it yourself and you will know. Maybe some person knows music can explain it better.
सब को विश्वबंधुत्व दिन की शुभकामनाए!!
Hope Sense and Peace prevail.
Stay tuned. Stay Positive. 🤗
