Those who always speak negative about Indian Festivals - people don't take them seriously anymore :). Some people support them as they have different equations and have nothing to do with plausibility or fallacy of an argument. But deep down we know that we are drifting or get carried away from the basic purpose . Okay fair enough, my point is if you are argumenting so vehemently why not show the way how to celebrate any festival. Why these intellectuals can't( or least interested in) show organized effort to show some model way of celebration. Unless you do that, your articles etc. are useless or at best they are waste material for reuse, recycle etc.
Can you do that , else shut up , you are just jealous of our festivals. And Hindu festivals are also Indian festivals , they are inclusive, it's not their intrinsic fault that some people don't like idol worship , still they get employed due to these festivals , don't you know that? Isn't it hypocratic to earn money through festivals and still criticize idol worship. Of course if you don't like these ways , keep it to yourself , why create unnecessary conflicts?Idols are what - symbols and symbols are important for any culture. By the way don't we enjoy gulgule , what's the problem enjoying मोदक :). Our religion do not allow this and that is exhibition of insecurity , thank god Hinduism do not have something like conversion ( you may choose घरवापसी!).Religion should not meddle too much with day to day activities , at least not now , we are not living in ancient or medieval age. Quite contradictory , while discussing about religious festivals :) , but that's life it has so many inherent contradictions. I believe you get my point.
The Point is to promote harmony through these festivals and if you are raising fingers , show the people how you can do it in better ways , otherwise eat Prasad and that will keep you from saying anything :)
