Gopalkala is combining food items of all the friends ( Gopals) and enjoying the food. This simple act generates feeling of unity, of bonhomie and sense of belonging.
So this is a nice way of eating together . Another nice way is its precursor playing together, when you play together you naturally eat together. Some people curb their children from playing, some other curb them from playing with so and so children ( class or caste discrimination). I have never been imposed such conditions and in fact being a bit reserved I have found sports very handy to open up with my friends. And when you meet some friend of yours after a very long time , you have very limited shared experiences, memory fades . But I have this solace with many of my friends that we have played together and then I start narrating my exploits 🤗.
For social harmony ' समूहभोजन' is necessary. And many of our festivals including tribal festivals have this program one or other way. Also I have very positive experience of RSS( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) shakha. We played together, we arranged trip ,played, sung inspirational songs .And there is often lots of fun in singing songs of different Indian languages, that rhythm ...cannot be described in words. Many so called intellectuals disproportionately criticize RSS but they never visited shakhas. And some reflect their insecurity by appealing others not to visit them.If you believe what your criticism holds any ground let people verify it :-), that's insecurity of these so called critiques. My favourite newspaper have been Sakaal for considerable time, Chitralekha have been my one of the favourite magazine and to begin with Janata dal before its several break-ups have been my favourite party , still I have found nothing negative in RSS. Of course some affiliated persons may have certain environment around them and say some notorious things in front of camera but no such things happen in shakhas. At least my experience is as such. And we have developed habit of highlighting a dot on the paper disproportionately , neglecting rest of the paper. Can't we observe relief work of RSS in Kerala floods and calamities even before them? Also constructive works in peace time...
Yes, it is for RSS to answer why RSS don't have non- Brahmin Sarsanghchalak as of now. But RSS don't work that way , it sees if person is qualified for the task and also any organization cannot exist without politics so there are undercurrents but that do not lead to any conflict on considerable scale. Point is more Brahmin have embraced it only percent wise and a lot from other castes see with suspicion based on rumours. I hope if able person can overcome misgivings and handle politics within he can lead this organization , his caste is officially immaterial , hope this is so in spirit because as one moves up to the pedestal struggle, politics is intense and it happens in every organization.Why single out RSS? It happens in BARTI as well :)
But that does not in anyway belittle positive contribution of these organizations.
So maybe it's time to arrange Gopalkala of critiques and their 'objects of criticism' .
That will be interesting !
