Perfection

We, at subconscious, love perfection. A lot of criticism  where we exclude self and take a dig at our fellows  only reflects this thing all the more . We expect certain things should be done in only that certain manner; things, surroundings , attire and behaviour should be orderly. Through many experiments I have understood it way back that yes, external appearance don't exactly represents you , but still orderliness in appearance is widely appreciated. It's our stubborn attitude  or laziness that allows us justify our lack of orderliness. Of course there cannot be one size fits all. Some people are naturally simple. And simplicity has its own appeal , in fact its uncomplicated nature makes it more attractive like Apple products. They are simple and designed for common people , of course what is affordable to common American is luxury for common Indian( not from American history). And Apple is planning to produce affordable versions for Indians . Before they make in India , there are some issues about privacy , security ,servers etc. that need to be sorted out. Simplicity is the greatest sophistication. But we shouldn't cover our shortcomings under the badge of simplicity.
We constantly seek perfection but mostly in others , so we find faults in them but similarly appreciating pluses  also helps in our journey to perfection as we identify what is better there and once you identify there are more chances we also have such qualities sooner, mirror neurons do the talking then. Also more introspection of ourself helps us understand others in much better way(s).
Like perfection we have innate craving for equality. So even perception of inequality make people upset. Then there is simplistic over generalizations. So in issues like reservations , we are rarely on common grounds. And we don't want to hear others , but amount of energy spend on it is more than required. One should be able to nurture oneself  as self reliant that no favours are required. But if we recognise by ' distant relative ' of so and so influential people( read politicians) that shows only our insecurity.  And that is funny thing, how? I wonder when that particular politician or his family members have inter-caste or inter-faith marriages that many people claim to be distant relatives. Or such claimants assume the next person as a fool.
So the point is:
we need fiercely Independent youth who  is conscious of his own importance and have understanding of interdependence as well to check self- centric worldview ( अपने बलबूते पर ..). That is why India needs to be more confident. The central message of every religion is ' self -reliance'. I am not scholar but I infer that opposition to music and other things of entertainment in Islam might be due to the fact that these may act as distractions to work by which we acquire self reliance and in those hard times of 6-7th century with difficult topography and warring tribes this may be found relevant. But we should not stick to fundamentalism or only letters. We need to understand the spirit , so basic end is ' self reliance'. And now we know only work , work and work may not work at all. We need rest.A change of work is also rest. A change in routine is rest. A distraction is also rest. An entertainment is also rest, a kind of refreshment , a recharge , an opportunity to regroup and then set ourselves on the course of 'self reliance'.
In Hinduism also when in childhood I first read Bhagvadgeeta it was difficult to digest the fact that even thinking is ' Karya'. While we learn in schools that there should be displacement and that should not be perpendicular as well only then work happens. But in my youth ( now :) abhi buddha nai hu me !)  I understood in thinking also we require energy , like when you are tensed you feel exhausted. So you know relation between energy and work ( energy- capacity to work that is almost equivalent). So that might be the case. So central message of every religion is clear ' work with diligence to achieve self - reliance'.But over the ages beliefs have evolved as functions of space-time and our attempts to find solutions, thinking. Some of the beliefs thought to be in best interest of society but at the cost of some sections. So religion is also our journey that keeps evolving. But if we stick only to its letters then it only means power politics. And if one section do it , why one should expect other not to even reply :)

And self reliance is the key for development. Religion is one path. Science is another. Some people believe oneness in both of these as तर्क etc as its basically began with understanding the world and it evolved .

So whatever we can do now, we should not be content in only that, we should be content at heart( stable minded)  and should learn new things , get updated in our work.Once we earn a salary that is not the end of it, it's the beginning. But why bureacracy act like that it's the end of it , because citizens need to be ' citizen at work'. We are citizen that is given. But we often don't play citizen , we play our caste identity, religious identity, regional identity. As long as this identity is in harmony with ' citizen' , it is okay. But conflict of interest creates problem. And to be in harmony of the ' citizen' we need to be more often a citizen , we nees to be more often Indian.

P.S. There is more to this topic especially about Nation State and Nationalism but we will devote it separate blogpost.
