Happy Independence Day in advance!
The title अखंड भारतीय because I can't accept partition. But it is now a fact and we don't know the future. But when you look recent history or post Independence history across the borders you can see the difference clearly.
Post liberalization 1991 , although efforts started earlier.Yashwant Sinha was disappointed for not being recognized for his own bit in the process and Manmohan Singh became the superstar. I expected that at least he will be considered for President's post.He would have been strong contender if he was declared and probably there was no need for a new party. But choice of current President Shri. Kovind ji stunned opposition and pushed them further on the backfoot.
The point is even after liberalization , noted economists from time to time expressed their anguish that ' India is about to take off .This ' about to' phase took considerable time, one generation at least( Have policymaker took it too literally..that second generation reforms should come in the next generation :-) ).
Everybody contributed but decisions about second generation economic reforms were not taken swiftly during coalition era.Even longevity of such coalition era was discussed. But Indian democracy stuns everybody in the world with its dynamism.Now a majority government taking bold steps without resorting to populism. Of course there are problems in ruling party as well, eapecially overlooking some vital things for ' winnability' in elections. But overnight changes cannot be expected, and even expected that simply cannot happen.
With recovery in Sight,I will confidently say ' India is taking off' this 15th August!
