If it is beneficial to be bad , why be good? But it needs to be told and retold that it is beneficial to be good.For instance if any trader is looting the consumer he may earn handsome profit for sometime as compared to another competitors who sell products with reasonable rates. As these competitor will build his image and credibility and will not earn just money but earn more consumers gradually.
We just need perspective change. For instance if one invest in rural areas he / she may get initial advantage and virtual monopoly for considerable time if we are ready to forgo initial expenses , but nobody is keen to do this. Also land acquisition can be politicised that acts as deterrant to be keen. But why not assure local people of benefits in upcoming project and this needs to be on record as promises are not kept often.Why entrepreneurs do not think that raising purchasing power of consumer will help in earning more consumers. Or they have insecurity that raised income will further create some rival :). We need more confidence and so should not compromise on quality. If we compromise on quality to earn some profit then our happiness won't be durable , there are enough companies with sufficient capital that they can provide quality products and push us out of market. Since this topic have to the fore, Call for Swadeshi should be backed by quality that in itself a service to the Nation , enhancing reputation of Brand India.
But people often have this cynicism that " bhalai ka toh jamana hi nahi". One reason for this -time taken for delivery of justice. It has improved in recent decades but still ..way to go. More about it next sunday.
