बीडला रेल्वे आलीच पाहिजे!
Beed is my native district and we don't have junction at district headquarter i.e Beed( Bhir- sometimes referred as Bhir in official documents). Since 50 years there has been a demand for Railway route ( Nagar-Beed-Parali). And piecemeal funds were sanctioned that were insufficient leading nowhere. Interestingly in last 20 odd years before 2014 MP from Beed district always did not belong to ruling party in the state , so funding was a problem. Now Beed MP's party is also ruling party in the state of Maharashtra. So funding is no more an issue, need to expedite. Railway is in sight now...coming soon. Then why am I shouting बीडला रेल्वे आलीच पाहिजे ( Railway Must reach Beed)?
We should take nothing for granted. It ain't over till it is over. There was a news that according to a RTI ( Right to Information) there might be further delay. So it is our duty to remind elected representatives why we elected them and how eagerly we were waiting to hear that whistle. And it is very important as it will improve mobility within my district , it will help nourish and flourish new markets, opening new possibilities, new jobs and so on.
Railways' fares are very affordable to commoners. But it was always a luxury thing for likes of me residing in Beed district. It is not that district do not have railways at all but junction Parali is towards one corner of the district and not very big junction. And we travel towards west more often. And to travel by bus firstly to reach Parali and then you know train routes :) .so it was never affordable to most of us , except those residing near Parali. And It seldom happens that district headquarter have no railway junction or even a small point. And it was difficult to convince this fact to people of other states eapecially people of Northern States, which had more railway Ministers and as nature of railway budget we knew - Northern states have better share of railway routes. Now railway minister is from Maharashtra, so we expect this time we will see zuk zuk railgadi.
My father was first one , in our family, to travel by railway. He travelled several states in his college tour. We were so much amused about chain-lock system for suitcase to be used in trains. And trains were luxury in our perception. This might be factually true also. As back then bus fares were also very low. But bus fares increased regularly. And untill my first journey by train ( Manmad - Allahabad via Itarasi) I have impression that train journey is costly affair. And I was surprised to see it being very affordable. And I wonder why when government speaks of raising fares to provide better services, why people make a ruckus ? Especially when I have seen quite well to do persons travelling without tickets. If all of us always purchase tickets for journey , railway will be profited in no time :)
And in my first journey , we ( me, Kaka and Mama) were helped by coolie to get a sit, we were not habituated to this much crowd , much more than that of bus-stand. And at Itarasi we realized how much one needs to wait for the train. And there was even more crowd , we realized it's not posaible to enter in general dibba. So we have to pay extra to TC and travel through sleeper coaches. This was it. But after that I travelled by train with friends during graduation couple of times. But I am not very familiar with this affair. Like when you don't know what to do with a new cuisine, you see and try to imitate others ( even within this short window,I was trendsetter - trivia :)) , so I followed my friends during such journeys and was not much familiar with railways.
So that is why when an express train did not stop at a stop where my exam was, I simply jumped. I came to know later you can actually return back from next station with another slower train within time :). But folks, I am not that mad also as you might assume. I certainly knew rudimentary physics and calculated in my mind how to jump and run after that. My landing was also perfect but like in life we always have something extra coming our way we never know. As I jumped, I saw a person was bound to bump into me. So to avoid collision I tried to restrict myself and then my legs crisscrossed , thank god! It wasn't a freefall ( have one experience of that also!). And my jeans had two big eyes , knees were coloured with my favourite pigment. One person gave me hand and before I could utter vote of thanks , he disappeared, that's Mumbai!
As here at beed we don't have trains, recently one of my friend survived an accident. As we may not have train junction, we have to travel by train especially for long distances. So you need to understand inconviniences, lack of familiarity and such other troubles. So we badly need, we urgently need rail route completely built and operational as soon as possible. Now it's rainy season. Work will commence in winter. I expect expediency in that . And here is why I expect it to be completed before Dec. 2018.
For some function VIPs need to visit a village next day morning.A stretch of 20 km connecting that village was in disarray. Villagers slept on the night of 12 December 2000 and Road was ready when villagers get up in the morning ( 13 December 2000, Rahul Bajaj was chief Engineer there). So our government machinery was that much efficient in 2000. It's 18 years now, technology have improved even more.We can understand rail route development is different from road construction. But we are not expecting overnight miracle. We expect efficient and expedited work of a few months. And please stop petty politics. All these years Railway Sangharsh Samiti from Beed demanded for it, and when it is near for party politics these same people trying to obstruct working under baseless pretext of unfair land acquisition , timing raises queations , how suddenly you got aware of this , all this time what were you doing? In any case MP need to find a way to expedite the project.
