Section 144 of CRPC invoked in Latur ,a district in Maharashtra State of India.A mild warning for the World. Section 144 is invoked for law & order problems. Now here this law & order problem arises due to scarcity of water.If you want to avoid Third World War,save water and embrace peace.
Don't just ignore this small incident ,where police has to attend proper distribution of water. And don't ignore because it is happening in developing Nation or in a populous country. A ship may sink with a very minute hole. So be alert, be at war with your own careless attitude of spoiling plenty of water and such other resources.If Israel can save each drop of water through precision farming etc ,so can rest of the world.
Also planners and crop of think- tankers should decide what kind of development we want. How much water should be distributed between citizens for domestic use, farmers for agriculture,Industrialists for Industries & Businesses , and for recreational activities.Primacy should be given to domestic use and agriculture as they are important for survival. Human existed even before any industries- by this one should not mean to become insensitive to needs of industry but some things could be done very earnestly.
Many Industries who are rich should be compelled to recycle,reuse,process required water. Sick industries should be provided channel for exit,reducing burden on resources. Also processes should be developed where amount of water required can be brought down to a certain level.For Startups also sensitization about water utilty in it's development can be done.
In Agriculture,in many areas for politics revolved around cooperative sector, water use intensive crops are promoted in water-scarce region. With 97th amendment there are reforms in cooperative sector taking place right now. So now it's upto farmers not to stick to old habits(even politicians :)).
While Govt. once in a while reminds Townships,Societies and other construction projects to implement Water Harvesting facilities,It forgets itself. How many Govt. Offices proudly bear such facility?How many Govt. Offices from Rashtrapati Bhavan to Village GramPanchayat or SEB (State Electricity Board) office are clean & efficient in water-usage?
