Bazaar

Government of India launched Adarsh Gram Yojana. This scheme is not rigidly defined.Several states also announced same schemes. This flexibility in implementing can be a big boost to creative acumen of MP(Member of Parliament) and MLA(Member of legislative Assemblies of  states of Union).farmer;s welfare is at the central of any Rural development scheme.Along with that "MARKET" is one important factor in developing rural economy. Government will do some time in future something about Market pricing of crops(in favour of farmers). But at first, some steps can be done immediately. Improving Market popularly known as Bazaar or Mandi or Mondha etc. local names of market.

Now in many villages there are weekly bazaars.Suppose Village A arranges weekly bazaar on Sunday, neighbouring Village B arranges weekly Bazaar on Saturday,Another neighbouring locality(smaller than village) may arrange bazaar on Wednesday. So there is sort of interdependence  or it can be nurtured if not coexisting. Remember this Bazaar plays huge role especially to raise financial status of small industries and thus have implications for overall benefits to village economy.

           For instance,a real life example:
My parents and forefathers told stories about Village BalamTakli being a major trade hotspot in surrounding 10 villages or  a circle(Mandal). Peth area was full of shops of trading communities like Marwari,Jain etc.Even today there are Big Bunglows of these people who have now shifted to cities;now there are ghost stories about these bunglows/silly rumours. Just three kilometres away there is village Bodhegaon, which was nowhere in competition to BalamTakli 30 years back. Gradually it catch up and surpassed BalamTakli in terms of economic turnover.I have myself seen this transition happening. How this happened? among many other reasons one important reason is Bodhegaon' weekly Bazaar (Thursday) became popular and gradually shops of tradingcommunities shifted there. BalamTakli is still a good village, some cultural activities ,were not on a scale previously held, do exist;but clearly Bodhegaon has overtaken in economic activities.

Moral: Pay attention to weekly Bazaar. Now examine India wide situation.Problem begins from cleanliness to minimal proper infrastructure arrangement of these weekly Bazaar market places. So Three tier Government from GramPanchayat to Union Govt. each can play a role in this regard. There is no system to calculate turnover of these markets. Traders themselves tally of their own business, but they do just that, some of them may be doing something for improvisation which needs to be done in regular manner. Also getting a seat in this Bazaar is difficult for newcomers in the business. So we can keep counting issues. Real need is to establish communication between these small traders who can become future businessmen too AND GOVERNMENT(Gramsevak-Sarpanch,Corporators-Nagaradhyaksha.........Union Ministry of Finance)
